How to take part
Our programmes are free and open across all three communities.
- How do I join a House of Arts programme?
- Send us a message through the contact form or WhatsApp +263 710 752 667 telling us which programme you are interested in and which community you live in. Our programmes are free. We run Sports Against Drugs in Hatcliffe and Mbare, and Dance It Off in Mbare and Epworth.
- How much does it cost to take part in House of Arts programmes?
- Participation is free. House of Arts is a non-profit organisation and our youth programmes, workshops, Sports Against Drugs campaign and Dance It Off dance groups are funded through partners, so there is no cost to young people taking part.
- What age can join House of Arts?
- Our programmes are designed for young people aged 13 and above. Some activity, including Provincial Youth Day celebrations and some workshops, is open to younger participants with a parent or guardian present.
- Do I need artistic experience to take part?
- No. Our programmes are for beginners and experienced participants alike. The focus is on creative expression, wellbeing and community, not on technical skill or auditions.
- What is Sports Against Drugs?
- Sports Against Drugs is our campaign that merges sport and the arts to educate communities about the harms of drugs. It runs in Hatcliffe and Mbare, combining football, dance and spoken word with direct education for young people and their parents.
- What is Dance It Off?
- Dance It Off is a House of Arts dance group programme running in Mbare and Epworth. It keeps young people active, connected and out of trouble, and has grown into one of the most visible parts of our community work.
